In Nonfiction Reading Practice, Grade 6 you'll find 20 content-specific topics in the following areas:

· science--ultrasound, manatees, Apollo 13, International Space Station, and Rachel Carson
· health & safety--dangers of smoking, Internet safety, and Joseph Pilates
· mathematics--the euro, investing for the future, and time zones
· the arts--jazz, special effects, Drum and Bugle Corps, and Frank Lloyd Wright
In each of these units, you will find the following:
· a teacher resource page that introduces the topic and lists suggested vocabulary to introduce for each article
· a visual aid that presents the topic graphically to the entire class
· three articles on the same topic, but at three different reading levels
· three accompanying comprehension/vocabulary worksheets
